30 tombs and a pyramid found in Mexico

In the State of Veracruz, 30 pre-Hispanic tombs and a pyramidal structure that could well be 2,000 years ago. The tombs contained a large number of objects and fossil remains. For its part, the pyramid bears a certain resemblance to the Mayan city of Comalcalco, in Tabasco.

The archaeological rescue has been carried out by archaeologists belonging to the National Institute of Anthropology and History who have reported that this place has been used recently for the construction of coke. After conducting a surface inspection, some materials were found that led to further investigation. Curiously, when carrying out new excavations, they came across skeletal remains accompanied by offerings, among which were animal remains, jade jewelry, mirrors and figures of Teotihuacan.

The place may have been a burial zone whose occupation may have been established as far back as 700 BC. Much of the skeletal remains are from prehistoric camelids or small rhinos, shark teeth possibly belonging to the Megalodon species extinct more than 10,000 years ago, and a tiger shark.

As for the pyramid it was found on a nearby hill and was covered in limestone. The importance of this latest find is that a stone pyramid has never been found in southern Veracruz before.

I was born in Madrid on August 27, 1988 and since then I started a work of which there is no example. Fascinated by both numbers and letters and a lover of the unknown, that is why I am a future graduate in Economics and Journalism, interested in understanding life and the forces that have shaped it. Everything is easier, more useful and more exciting if, with a look at our past, we can improve our future and for that… History.
