An unknown structure found under the Sea of Galilee

In the depths of the Sea of Galilee, researchers from Tel Aviv University have discovered a cone-shaped structure that could have been built on land some 6,000 years ago.

The object is endowed with 230 meters in diameter, 39 meters high and about 60,000 tons of weight as reported by Shmulik Marco, belonging to the Department of Geophysics of the UTA. Built on land and later submerged under water, it is an impressive job since the stones that form it were brought from more than a mile away and arranged in a specific way.

The site where it is found bears some resemblance to burial sites in Europe and its construction was probably carried out at the beginning of the Bronze Age.

Initially it was intended to investigate the origins of the alluvium found in this area, but surprisingly when conducting a study using sonar technology, a huge pile of stacked stones was observed. Faced with that surprise, Professor Marco set out to dive to find more information about that stack. Looking closer he could see that it was not a random accumulation but carefully crafted from basalt stones whose nearest deposit was more than a mile away.

To find out the structure age The researchers observed the accumulated sand around the base and taking into account the height of the sand as well as its accumulation rate, it has been deduced that it dates back several thousand years.
A more detailed underwater investigation will be carried out to give it a more precise date, to know more in depth its authors and the purpose for which it was carried out.

I was born in Madrid on August 27, 1988 and since then I started a work of which there is no example. Fascinated by both numbers and letters and a lover of the unknown, that is why I am a future graduate in Economics and Journalism, interested in understanding life and the forces that have shaped it. Everything is easier, more useful and more exciting if, with a look at our past, we can improve our future and for that… History.
