The small Iberian necropolises in Matarraña are cataloged

During a study carried out by the archaeologists José Antonio Benavente and Salvador Melguizo, the cataloging of dozens of Iberian tombs that are distributed by different municipal terms. The study has been commissioned by the Matarraña region, Teruel.

Much of these burial mounds had been mentioned in documents by other archaeologists in the early 20th century, many of which had previously been looted.

Some of the tombs found are up to eight meters in diameter with sepulchral chambers of a meter and a half high, so it is thought that they have a monumental character.

Apart from cataloging the tombs, archaeologists have proposed to set a denomination for each one and thus avoid confusion, since, from one document to another they appear named differently.

I was born in Madrid on August 27, 1988 and since then I started a work of which there is no example. Fascinated by both numbers and letters and a lover of the unknown, that is why I am a future graduate in Economics and Journalism, interested in understanding life and the forces that have shaped it. Everything is easier, more useful and more exciting if, with a look at our past, we can improve our future and for that… History.
